ALTERNATIVE SURF HIGH PERFORMANCE
Inspired by the river wave and City Wave® high performance surf culture in Munich that has spread around the world and now includes our regional Bend, Boise, and Chelan alternative surf playgrounds and probably one, two or three coming to your zone too! The Whirlpool is a low volume “river focused” high performance shortboard infused with some amazing features developed through our wake and ocean surfing shape experiments. A classic squash tail with a smooth curved rail line, matching rocker, single concave and tri-fin set up translates to proven high performance. Our PAD (particle acceleration dish) concave placed in the front fin area increases water flow rate on the board surface where you need it most and creates magical speed and a loose feel. A visibly chined rail offers catch free forgiveness while at the same time reducing rail volume and allowing aggressive precise high performance surfing. To take it over the top performance wise we also added a top deck concave under your front foot for positive skate like control in and above the water. Infinite waves, radical surfing, an all access pass to surf progression... Whirlpool!

I've surfed quite a few boards in the rivers of Colorado. This is a new favorite! This board has the perfect shape to allow you to keep or gain speed on rail while still being able to snap and release when you want to. Unlike a typical groveler that many people use in the river, this board will sit in the water instead of gliding on top. Thanks Lib Tech for always experimenting with new ideas!
I've gone from a foamie homie to now joining the Legion of Lib Tech Whirlpool Owners Club. Let me tell you, the board looks amazing and flexes on everyone's boring blanks at the wave. Not only does it look good, but you will be throwing buckets first try. It's so snappy, light, and moves quickly in the water. It's perfect!
The Whirlpool is a game changer I fell in love soon as my feet hit the deck!! I bought my board a month ago, it feels like my riding ability is developing at WarpSpeed and I'm having a blast! Thank you to everyone at Mervin (Lib/GNU) for many years of making the best boards.
