Lost Puddle Jumper

Got myself a PJ instead of a fish and it has been a blast riding this summer in Portugal. Seems to work on almost everything from small beach breaks to fat points. Highly recommend!

I’ve been riding the 5'7" Puddle Jumper in Lib Tech construction for a while now, and it’s hands down one of the most fun boards I’ve owned—especially in small, weaker surf. This thing absolutely flies in small waves. Paddling is effortless, and it catches waves super early. Even on those knee- to waist-high days when most boards feel like a chore, the Puddle Jumper makes it feel like you’re still surfing. I like it in smaller flatter waves when it's really small and crowded and I just want to cruise down the line past everyone while still on a shorter board.

I picked up a Lib Tech PJ a while ago and I really like it! I mostly ride it at wind swell beach breaks. Works fine for me in choppy conditions. I’ve ridden it on waves from around 2’ faces to maybe 7’ faces although it starts to get a little hard to control and make drops when the waves get bigger. I usually take it out when the waves are between 2’-4’ faces. It felt to slow and boggy for me as a thruster so I only ride it at a quad. Never tried it as a twin. I’m a little over 5’8” around 175 lbs and I have the 5’3” PJ with Large Rrips fins (I was still able to catch waves on it when I was around 193 lbs but I grew up mostly bodyboarding (prone, dropknee, standup) so I’m a fairly strong paddler and am comfortable on smaller boards). As a quad the board is fast and maneuverable, although sometimes if I push too hard when turning or bottom turning the tail will slip out a little bit when I don’t want it to (but that could be more of a quad thing…or partly because of the wide tail?). Overall though it’s a lot of fun to ride! Also the board definitely seems durable! The only thing that I don’t really care for are the fin boxes. They work but don’t seem as secure as other types. I would really like it if more of their board models had futures compatible fin box options. I want to get more lib tech boards in the future because I like the construction so I’m hoping that this changes. I would love to see a more performance short board model like the Little Wing with Futures boxes. And definitely the PJ and the RNF 96 with a futures option. And if Lib Tech ever comes out with a Lost Pisces model with Futures compatible boxes I will probably crack my phone screen pressing “Buy” so hard lol. Hope this info was able to help someone. If you’re looking for a fast, fun, durable board to ride in smaller surf I would definitely take a look at this one. Also, if you’re going to be surfing in choppy/windy conditions a lot I think that the lib tech construction is better than other epoxies—it seems a little heavier and feels like it plows through chops better without bouncing/chattering all over the place.

WOW - this is a revelation! By far the best (1 quiver) Board out there! I use it for flood RiverSurfing in Germany mostly. Just had it with me for some wave riding in South Africa ( up to 6ft ). Catches waves like a longboard, handles like a shortboard, carves like a fish! Amazing! Male 1,80cm, 77kg, 5'9” with 37,5 Liters

With so many boards on offer I found it hard to decide on a board. But as I plan to travel, and need something for smaller days, I got the PJ and first try, it was awesome. very forgiving, moves nice from rail to rail, and you can still duckdive it. I'm a girl, 5'10 69kg and 5'9 is perfect fit. I wholly encourage any girls considering this board, its a great fit.
